Returns the current position of the specified open fork.

DISCUSSION

The relevant fields of the parameter block are:

• ioCompletion

  On input, a pointer to a completion routine.

• ioResult

  On output, the result code of the function.

• forkRefNum

  On input, the reference number of the fork whose position you wish to obtain.

• positionOffset

  On output, the current position of the fork. The returned fork position is relative to the start of the fork (that is, is an absolute offset in bytes).

AVAILABILITY

Supported in Carbon. Available in Mac OS 9, and later when Carbon 1.0.2 or later is present.
